A man will face court following a two-vehicle crash in state's south.
About 9am yesterday (Wednesday 13 December 2023), emergency services were called to the intersection of The Rock Road and Racecourse Road, Tocumwal, following reports of a two-vehicle crash.
On arrival, officers attached to Murray River Police District located a prime mover with a trailer attached and a silver Toyota sedan, both damaged due to a collision.
It is alleged the front of the sedan collided with the rear of prime mover at the time of crash.
The driver of sedan – a 46-year-old woman – was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Shepparton Hospital (Victoria) in a serious condition.
The driver of prime mover – a 70-year-old man – was not injured.
He was subject to a roadside breath test, which returned a negative result.
Following further inquiries, the man was arrested at Corowa Police Station, about 10am today (Thursday 14 December 2023).
He was charged with dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm – drive manner dangerous, negligent driving (occasions grievous bodily harm), and not give way to vehicle (give way sign/line).
He was granted unconditional bail to appear at Finley Local Court in January next year (Wednesday 24 January 2024).
