A man has been charged after allegedly aiming a laser pointer at a PolAir aircraft in the state's west yesterday.
About 10:30pm yesterday (Saturday 2 November 2024), PolAir 7 was flying over East Dubbo when a green laser pointer was allegedly aimed at the fixed-wing aircraft.
A short time later, officers attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District attended a home on Lunar Avenue, Dubbo, where they arrested a 35-year-old man.
He was taken to Dubbo Police Station and charged with do act with intent to prejudice the safety of aircraft or vessel and do act to threaten safety of aircraft/persons on board.
The man was granted conditional bail to appear before Dubbo Local Court on Wednesday 27 November 2024.
