A man will face court today charged over several alleged property and stealing offences.
Between May 2024 and October 2024, police attached to Port Stephens-Hunter Police District investigated several offences they believed were linked.
Following extensive inquiries, police attended a home on Rosetta Way, Raymond Terrace, about 10.30am yesterday (Wednesday 23 October 2024).
Upon arrival, a man was seen to leave the property over a rear fence.
Police pursued then man on foot and a 43-year-old man was arrested a short time later on the Pacific Highway.
Police will allege in court that the man resisted arrest, and officers used OC spray to effect the arrest.
The man was taken to Raymond Terrace Police Station where he was charged with 17 offences:
- Four counts of break and enter house etc steal value less than $60000,
- Four counts of dishonestly obtain property by deception,
- Four counts of larceny,
- Aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence,
- Aggravated break and enter with intent - knowing person there,
- Break and enter dwelling-house etc with intent,
- Goods in personal custody suspected being stolen,
- Hinder or resist police officer in the execution of duty.
He was refused bail to appear before Raymond Terrace Local Court today (Thursday 24 October 2024).
