Man Charged for Ramming Police Car in Ravenswood South

Police have charged a man after he allegedly rammed a police vehicle in Ravenswood South last night.

Officers intercepted a vehicle travelling north on Calder Highway about 5.25pm.

The driver came to a stop on Hokins Road, before allegedly performing a U-turn and ramming the police car.

One of the police officers was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The 43-year-old man of no fixed address allegedly threw a knife from the vehicle before being arrested at the scene.

He's been charged with:

- Intentionally exposing emergency worker to risk by driving

- Recklessly exposing emergency worker to risk by driving

- Damage an emergency service vehicle by reckless driving

- Drive while disqualified

- Drive manner dangerous

- Fail to stop on police direction

- Fail to stop vehicle after accident

- Possess controlled weapon

- Refused breath test

- Make threats to kill

- Act prejudicial to the order of the jail

He was remanded to appear at Bendigo Magistrates' Court later today.
