Man Charged in Albert Park Arson and Damage

Port Phillip Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man after more than 20 cars were allegedly damaged and bins were set on fire in Albert Park.

It is alleged he damaged and scratched approximately 20 cars on Carter Street and Canterbury Road overnight between Sunday 29 and Monday 30 September.

He also allegedly lit bin fires on Dundas Place and Brooke Street between Wednesday 2 and Thursday 3 October.

The 39-year-old was arrested in Dandenong on Friday, 4 October.

The Ringwood East man was charged with criminal damage and arson.

He was remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 18 October, 2024.
