Man Charged in Drug Cultivation Case Near Lithgow

A man will face court today charged with cultivating cannabis in the state's Central Tablelands.

In November 2023, officers attached to Chifley Police District established Strike Force Quinalup to investigate cannabis cultivation in the Lithgow area.

About 11.05am yesterday (Wednesday 14 August 2024), strike force officers executed a search warrant at a property on Oakey Forest Road, Marrangaroo, about 4km north-west of Lithgow.

During the search of the property officers located and seized, 89 cannabis plants from a large-scale indoor hydroponic cannabis cultivation site.

A 52-year-old man was arrested and taken to Lithgow Police Station.

He was charged with enhanced indoor cultivate cannabis for commercial purpose.

The man was refused bail to appear at Lithgow Local Court today (Thursday 15 August 2024).
