Man Charged in Dubbo: Break-Ins, Car Theft, Threats

A man has been charged after he allegedly threatened a woman with a knife, broke into multiple homes and stole a car in Dubbo earlier this week.

About 9.20pm on Monday (31 March 2025), police were called to a home in Dubbo, following reports of a domestic incident.

Officers attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District arrived and were told a man had chased a woman with knife before fleeing the scene before police arrived.

No injuries were reported.

Police immediately commenced an investigation into the incident and attempted to locate the man.

Following the incident, police received multiple reports that several homes nearby had been broken into with clothing, electronic devices and a car being stolen.

About 5.30pm yesterday (Tuesday 1 April 2024), following inquiries police arrested a 27-year-old man at a home on Tudor Street, Bourke.

He was taken to Bourke Police Station where he was charged with two counts of aggravated commit serious indictable offence in dwelling people there, aggravated break and enter with intent knowing person there, take and drive conveyance without consent of owner and leaner not accompanied by driver/police officer/tester.

The man was refused bail to appear before Lightning Ridge Local Court today (Wednesday 2 April 2025).
