Man Charged in Glen Waverley Armed Robbery, Assault

Monash Crime Investigation detectives have charged a 34-year-old man following an alleged violent armed robbery in Glen Waverley last month.

The Nagambie man has been charged with armed robbery, robbery and assault-related offences.

He was remanded to appear in Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 26 September.

The charges relate to the alleged serious assault and armed robbery of a bottle shop staff member on 16 June.

It's alleged two men entered the store, at the intersection of Blackburn and High Street roads, and assaulted the 48-year-old staff member before leaving empty-handed about 8.50pm.

The victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries however has since been released.

Detectives are still searching for a second man as part of their investigation.
