Man Charged in Kanwal Stabbing Incident

A man will face court after another man was stabbed in Central Coast.

About 11pm on Sunday (2 February 2025), emergency services were called to a house on Phyllis Avenue, Kanwal, following reports of an alleged domestic violence-related incident.

Officers attached to Tuggerah Lakes Police District were told two men - aged 24 and 26 – were involved in an altercation before both men sustained stab wounds.

It is believed both men were known to each other.

The 24-year-old man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for stab wound to his stomach before being taken to a hospital in a serious condition.

The 26-year-old man was also treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics with stab wound to his leg before being taken to a hospital in a stable condition.

Following inquiries, about 11am today (Monday 3 February 2025), police arrested the 26-year-old man at the hospital after he was released.

He was taken to Wyong Police Station where he was charged with use etc offensive weapon with intent to commit indictable offence, and reckless wounding (DV).

He was refused bail to appear at Wyong Local Court tomorrow (Tuesday 4 February 2025).
