Man Charged in Launceston CBD Burglary Spree

Police have charged a 32-year-old man from Longford in relation to a series of burglaries allegedly committed in the Launceston CBD on 26 and 28 July 2024.

Police will allege the total value of cash and property stolen, and damage from the business burglaries, is more than $50,000.

The man has been charged with:

  • Burglary x17
  • Attempted burglary x4
  • Stealing x12
  • Attempted stealing x2
  • Being in possession of stolen property x1
  • Stealing with force x1
  • Computer related fraud x6
  • Destroy property x2
  • Common assault x1
  • Contravene conditions of a notice x11

He will appear before the Launceston Magistrates Court at 2.15pm today.
