A man has faced court today after being charged with several break and enter and theft offences, under Strike Force Sweetenham.
Detectives from Strike Force Sweetenham have been investigating multiple alleged car thefts in the Sydney Metropolitan area in May and June 2024.
Following extensive inquiries, detectives – with assistance from Western Region Enforcement Squad, Operation Regional Mongoose and Oxley Proactive Crime Team – executed a search warrant at a home on Tingira Avenue, West Tamworth about 6.50am today (Thursday 11 July 2024).
A 22-year-old man was arrested and taken to Tamworth Police Station.
He was charged with 15 offences, including nine counts of be carried in conveyance, five counts of aggravated enter dwelling with intent in company-steal etc more than $60,000 and one count of enter building/land with intent commit indictable offence.
The 22-year-old was refused bail to appear before Tamworth Local Court today (Thursday 11 July 2024), where he was refused bail to appear before the same court on Tuesday 16 July 2024.
Police will allege in court the man was involved in the theft of vehicles in Sans Souci, Wahroonga, Tennyson Point, Prospect and Lindfield in May and June 2024.
Strike Force Sweetenham is a metropolitan region investigation into the theft of high-performance and luxury vehicles.
