Man Charged in Mt Pritchard Taxi Driver Stabbing: NSW Police

A man is due in court today charged over the alleged stabbing of a taxi driver at Mt Pritchard last week.

A 41-year-old man suffered wounds to his left arm and thigh after picking up a fare from a motel on the Hume Highway at Cabramatta about 4.15pm last Friday (24 May 2024).

The driver was taken to Liverpool Hospital for treatment for non-life-threatening injuries, while officers attached to Fairfield City Police Area Command commenced an investigation.

Following inquiries, Liverpool Police arrested a 22-year-old man about 10pm yesterday (Sunday 26 May 2024), on Newbridge Road, Moorebank, after responding to reports of a robbery.

The man was taken to Liverpool Police Station where he was charged by Fairfield Police with reckless wounding. He has also been charged with attempted robbery of a 34-year-old man in George Lane.

The man, from Casula, has been refused bail to appear at Liverpool Local Court today Monday (27 May 2024).
