Man Charged in Neutral Bay Attempted Sexual Assault

A man will face court today charged with alleged sexual offences in Sydney's North Shore.

About 3.30am on Thursday (20 March 2025), a 36-year-old woman caught a bus to Neutral Bay after finishing work.

While walking down Wycombe Road, the woman was allegedly grabbed from behind by a man who covered her mouth, interfered with her clothing and pushed her against a nearby garage door.

The man allegedly pinned the woman against the door before removing his pants. The woman was able to kick and bite the man before he fled on foot towards Military Road.

A crime scene was established, and detectives attached to the North Shore Police Area Command and commenced an investigation into the incident.

Following inquiries, an 18-year-old man was arrested at Manly Police Station and charged with take etc person intend commit serious indictable offence, inflict actual bodily harm with intent have sexual intercourse with victim, and carry out sexual act with another without consent.

He was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court today (Saturday 22 March 2025).
