Man Charged in Prestige Car Thefts in Mittagong

A man will face court over two separate break and enters at the same business where a number of vehicles were stolen in the states south last year.

On Wednesday 22 May 2024, officers from The Hume Police District commenced an investigation into an alleged break and enter at a car dealership on Main Street, Mittagong, which occurred earlier that morning where four prestige vehicles and a motorbike were stolen.

Police attended the same premises on Saturday 1 June 2024, in relation to an alleged second break and enter after an electric bike was stolen.

Following extensive inquiries, a 34-year-old man was arrested at Coffs Harbour Police Station yesterday (Wednesday 12 February 2025).

It will be alleged that the man attempted to on-sell the vehicles.

The four prestige vehicles have since been recovered by police.

The man was charged with aggravated break & enter commit serious indictable offence in company steal etc more than $60,000, aggravated break & enter dwelling etc in company steal less than $60,000 and four counts of attempt dispose property theft serious indictable less than $5,000.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Coffs Harbour Local Court today (Thursday 13 February 2025).

Investigations are ongoing.
