A man has been charged over an alleged sexual touching on public transport in Sydney's west last week.
On Thursday 17 October 2024, officers attached to Police Transport Command commenced an investigation following reports of an alleged sexual touching in a train.
Police were told a 13-year-old girl was allegedly sexually touched by a man on a train, whilst travelling between Blacktown Railway Station and St Marys Railway Station, that day.
Following extensive inquiries, police arrested a 42-year-old man at a home on Adelaide Street, St Marys, about 6.15pm yesterday (Monday 21 October 2024).
He was taken to Penrith Police Station, where he was charged with intentionally sexually touch child older or equal to 10 years and younger than 16 years, and behave offensive manner in/on public passenger vehicle.
He was refused bail to appear at Penrith Local Court today (Tuesday 22 October 2024).
