Man Charged in Woy Woy Stabbing Investigation

A man will face court today charged following an investigation into an alleged stabbing at Woy Woy last month.

About 9.30pm on Thursday 27 February 2025, emergency services were called to Ocean Beach Road, Woy Woy, following reports of an assault.

Officers from Brisbane Water Police District were told an 18-year-old man was stabbed at a home before he was taken to Woy Woy Train Station.

NSW Ambulance attended and located the man with a stab wound to his neck and he was taken to Gosford Hospital in a critical condition. He has since been discharged from hospital.

Following extensive inquiries, police arrested a 26-year-old man at an East Gosford unit yesterday (Monday 17 March 2025).

He was taken to Gosford Police Station where he was charged with affray, and wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

He was also charged with shoplifting in relation to an earlier incident.

He was refused bail to appear before Gosford Local Court today (Tuesday 18 March 2025).
