Man Charged Over $300K Vape Seizure in Riverina: NSW Police

A man will front court, after officers allegedly seized more than $300,000 worth of vapes during a road stop in the State's south.

About 12.15pm, on Monday 17 June 2024, police attached to Riverina Highway Patrol were conducting stationary testing on the Hume Highway, Tumblong, approximately 15km south-east of Gundagai, pulling over a Toyota Hiace van.

Police searched the vehicle, seizing 37 boxes, containing 9400 vapes – with an estimated street value of $329,000.

The 52-year-old male driver from Victoria, was arrested and taken to Gundagai Police Station.

He was issued a court attendance notice for goods in custody, to appear before Gundagai Local Court on Friday 16 August 2024.
