A man will appear in court today charged with drug supply following an investigation into an alleged clandestine lab in Sydney's north west.
On Monday 20 February 2023, officers attached to Riverstone Police Area Command executed a warrant at a unit on Terry Road, Rouse Hill, after sheriff officers – executing an eviction warrant - identified a suspected clandestine lab.
Assistance was sought from the State Crime Command's Drugs and Firearms Squad, Chemical Operations Unit, and The Technical Forensic Support Unit to process the scene.
At the lab, police located and seized a 1kg pressed block of cocaine - with an estimated street value of $400,000 – and other items consistent with the manufacture of prohibited drugs.
The seized items were forensically examined.
Strike Force Cairns was established by Riverstone detectives, with the assistance of North West Metropolitan Region Enforcement Squad (RES) and Brisbane Water Police District, to investigate further.
As part of inquiries, officers attached to the State Crime Command's Raptor Squad stopped a vehicle on the Pacific Highway at Ourimbah, on the Central Coast, just after 6pm yesterday (Thursday 24 August 2023).
During a search of the vehicle, police allegedly seized $270,000 cash, MDMA, cannabis, ammunition, and items consistent with the manufacture of prohibited drugs.
The driver, a 25-year-old man, was arrested and taken to Gosford Police Station where he was charged with supply prohibited drug - large commercial quantity, knowingly deal with proceeds of crime, supply prohibited drug – indictable quantity, possess ammunition w/o holding licence/permit/authority, and possess prohibited drug.
The Central Coast man was refused bail to appear at Gosford Local Court today (Friday 25 August 2023).
