A man has been charged after an alleged stabbing and house fire in Sydney's southwest over the weekend.
About 12.30pm yesterday (Saturday 22 July 2023), emergency services were called to a home on Eureka Crescent, Sadlier, after reports a woman had been injured.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated a 32-year-old woman for a stab wound to her neck at the scene, before she was taken to Liverpool Hospital in a stable condition.
Officers attached to Liverpool City Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene.
Police have been told a man fled the scene prior to police arrival.
About 6am today (Sunday 23 July 2023), emergency services returned to the home, following reports of a fire.
NSW Fire and Rescue attended and extinguished the blaze however the house was destroyed.
No one was home at the time and there were no reports of injuries.
Police arrested a 45-year-old man in the back yard of the property.
He was taken to Liverpool police station and charged with:
contravene prohibition/restriction in AVO (domestic),
special aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence,
wound person intend to cause grievous bodily harm (DV),
take and drive conveyance without consent of owner and damage property by fire/explosion (DV)
He was refused bail to appear before Liverpool Local Court on Monday 24 July 2023.
