A man has been charged and investigations continue following an alleged pursuit and crash in Lalor Park this morning.
Just after 12am (Thursday 13 February 2025), police were notified of an alleged break and enter at a home in Pendle Hill during which a Toyota Hilux was seen driving from the scene.
A short time later, officers from Cumberland Traffic and Highway Patrol Command attempted to stop the Toyota Hilux on Goddall Street, Pendle Hill.
When it failed to stop as directed, a pursuit was initiated.
The pursuit continued along Wentworth Avenue through local streets and a residential property, before crashing into a reserve on Moffat Drive, Lalor Park.
The driver and passenger were arrested at the scene.
Police searched the vehicle and allegedly located and seized items believed to have been stolen, a machete, a tomahawk axe, pliers and a bolt cutter.
The driver – a 29-year-old man – was treated for minor injuries and taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition where he remains under police guard.
The passenger – a 30-year-old man – was taken to Blacktown Police Station.
He was charged with aggravated break and enter dwelling etc in company steal, be carried in conveyance taken w/o consent of owner, possess housebreaking implements, custody of knife in public place.
The man was bail refused to appear before Blacktown Local Court today (Thursday 13 February 2025).
Initial inquiries have led police to believe the Toyota Hilux was allegedly displaying fake registration plates and the vehicle was reported stolen from a home in Penrith last month.
Inquiries into the incident continue.
