New South Wales Police and Cobram detectives have arrested a man in Barooga NSW following an attempted abduction of a teenage girl in Cobram Victoria on 20 April, Victoria Police say.
It is believed a 15-year-old girl was walking through the showgrounds from Ivy Street around 4.40pm when the incident occurred.
She managed to escape and was taken to hospital.
The 30-year-old man was arrested around 9pm last night, and extradited to Victoria today.
He has been remanded to face the Shepparton Magistrates’ Court on 18 July over charges relating to abduction for the purpose of sexual penetration, kidnapping and unlawful imprisonment.
