Man Charged With Burglary, Firearms, Wildlife Offences: Tas Police

A 23-year-old Campania man has been charged with multiple offences including burglary, firearms and wildlife-related offences following a targeted investigation.

Police executed a search warrant at a private residence early last month and located various illegal firearms and stolen property.

The man was arrested on Friday and charged with multiple burglary, and firearms-related offences.

As a result of the search, the man was also charged in relation to the death of an Australian fur seal - a protected species - near Richmond.

Police will allege the man used a firearm against the seal, which sadly died as a result of the incident.

The man was detained and appeared in the Hobart Magistrates Court on Friday before being remanded to reappear on Monday afternoon.
