Man Charged With Child Exploitation Distribution

Detectives from the Child Exploitation Operations Squad (CEO) have charged a 56-year-old man with nine offences as a result of their investigation into child exploitation material.

On Thursday 25 July 2024, detectives executed a search warrant at the man's home where various mobile phone and electronic devices allegedly belonging to the man were seized.

A preliminary analysis of these devices identified the man allegedly utilised various online communication sites to distribute and possess child exploitation material.

It is further alleged a triage of a mobile phone seized located numerous videos containing bestiality material and a video containing category one child exploitation material.

The 56-year-old man from Mount Lawley is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court today (26 July) charged with:

• Two counts of Distributing Child Exploitation Material;

• Two counts of Possessed a Prohibited Drug;

• One count of Possessing Child Exploitation Material;

• One count of Caused Child Pornography Material to be Transmitted to Themselves using a Carriage Service;

• One count of Possess or Copy an Indecent or Obscene Article;

• One count of Unlawfully Manufactured or Supplied a Controlled or Prescription drug; and

• One count of Possessed any Drug Paraphernalia in or on which there was a Prohibited Drug or Plant.
