Man Charged With Domestic Violence in Blackwater

Blackwater detectives have charged a man following investigations into a series of serious domestic violence offences yesterday, November 12.

Officers attended an address in Blackwater on Tuesday evening and arrested the alleged offender.

Police will allege the incidents occurred between November 1 and November 12.

A 33-year-old Blackwater man has been charged with six domestic violence offences including two counts of torture, wilful damage, choking, assaults occasioning bodily harm, and deprivation of liberty.

He is due to appear before Rockhampton Magistrates Court today, November 13.

Detective Inspector Luke Peachey said domestic violence has no place in the community.

"We have zero tolerance for anyone committing these offences," said Detector Inspector Peachey.

"Our officers are committed to ensuring victim-survivors are protected and supported."
