A man has been charged with alleged serious domestic violence offences following a joint investigation by general duties and specialist police.
On Thursday 13 February 2025, officers attached to Orana-Mid Western Police District were notified of an alleged domestic incident at a property at Turill.
Police will allege in court that the man drove his vehicle towards a woman – who is known to him – on the property causing her to fear for her safety.
Police will further allege that the man later threatened the victim and damaged property.
Officers attached to the Hunter Valley Police District located and attempted to arrest the man on Tuesday 18 February 2025; however, he ran into bushland at Turill and was unable to be located.
About 2pm yesterday (Wednesday 12 March 2025), the Hunter and Western DV High Risk Offender Teams (DVHROT) – assisted by Northern Region Operational Support Group, the Dog Unit, PolAir, and Hunter Valley Police District – attended the Turill property where they commenced a search for the man.
Following an extensive search of the property, officers arrested a 41-year-old man who was found hiding in a cave.
He was taken to Mudgee Police Station where he was charged with two counts of stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm, common assault (DV), and destroy or damage property (DV).
He was refused bail to appear before Dubbo Local Court today (Thursday 13 March 2025).
