A man will face court charged with multiple domestic violence-related offences following an investigation into an incident in the state's Central West at the weekend.
About 9.30pm on Friday (18 May 2024), a man, a woman and a 5-year-old child known to the pair stopped their car at the intersection of Orange and Dalley Street, Parkes after an argument ensued.
The pair exited the car when the man allegedly assaulted the woman multiple times before members of the public intervened and the man got into the car.
The woman and child ran from the location when the man followed in the car and mounted the kerb hitting a tree before fleeing the area on foot.
Officers attached to Central West Police District received a report and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Following inquiries, about 6am yesterday (Monday 20 May 2024), police attended Parkes Hospital and arrested a 28-year-old man where he was taken to Parkes Police Station.
He was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm (DV), drive motor vehicle menaces another with intent, stalk/intimidate intend fear physical harm, threaten injury to person with intent commit indictable offence, drive while licence cancelled, and breach of bail.
The man was refused bail and appeared at Parkes Local Court yesterday (Monday 20 May 2024), where he was formally refused bail to appear at Forbes Local Court today (Tuesday 21 May 2024).
