Man Charged With Drug Trafficking After Car Stop

Northern Grampians Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man after locating what is alleged to be a traffickable quantity of methylamphetamine worth $3M in Stawell yesterday.

Officers from Stawell police intercepted a Honda HRV on Horsham Road about 2.20am on 11 February.

They conducted a search of the car and located two phones, cash, and what is alleged to be methylamphetamine.

The driver, a 20-year-old Keilor Downs man, was arrested at the scene.

He has since been charged by detectives with traffick large commercial quantity of methylamphetamine and was remanded in custody to appear before the Horsham Magistrates' Court today.
