Man Charged With High Range PCA After Peakhurst Crash

A man has been charged with high range PCA after a crash in Peakhurst this morning.

About 12.15am (Sunday 4 August 2024), emergency services were called to Forest Road near the intersection of Scott Road, following reports of a three-vehicle crash.

Police have been told a Kia sedan was travelling in a northerly direction and a Land Rover SUV in a southerly direction before the two vehicles collided in the south-bound lane. The Kia continued and collided with a Hyundai sedan.

All occupants of the vehicles were treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics for minor injuries, before the passengers of the Land Rover taken to St George Hospital for further treatment.

The driver of the Kia – a 66-year-old man – was subject to a roadside breath test which returned a positive result.

The driver of Range Rover was also subject to a roadside breath test, which returned with a negative result.

The 66-year-old man was taken to Kogarah Police Station where he underwent a secondary breath analysis which returned an alleged reading of 0.162.

The man was charged with high range PCA and negligent driving and refused bail, to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today (Sunday 4 August 2024).

The man's driver's licence was suspended.
