Man Charged With Intimidation at Macquarie Park Booth

A man has been charged following an incident at a pre-polling booth in the seat of Bennelong in Sydney's north-west.

About 11am yesterday (Tuesday 22 April 2025), a man approached a pre-polling booth on Herring Road, Macquarie Park, and allegedly kicked a number of political advertising signs and became aggressive towards three volunteers working at the booth.

The man allegedly intimidated a 32-year-old female volunteer and acted in an aggressive manner towards two other volunteers.

The man then walked off. None of the volunteers were physically injured during the incident.

The matter was reported to officers at Ryde Police Area Command today (Wednesday 23 April 2025), who commenced an investigation.

Following inquiries, police attended a unit on Mahogany Avenue, Macquarie Park, about 1pm and arrested a 30-year-old man.

He was taken to Gladesville Police Station where he has now been charged with intimidation.

He has been granted conditional bail to appear at Burwood Local Court on 2 June 2025.
