Man Charged With Murder After Belmore Body Find

A man will face court charged after the body of a man was found in Sydney's southwest last weekend.

About 9pm on Saturday 15 March 2025, emergency services were called to a home on Lakemba Street, Belmore, following reports of a concern for welfare.

On arrival, police allegedly found the body of a 34-year-old man inside.

Initial inquiries revealed the body allegedly sustained a number of stab wounds.

Detectives attached to Campsie Police Area Command commenced an investigation under Strike Force Sandilands assisted by the State Crime Commands homicide squad.

A crime scene was established, and a number of items seized.

A 24-year-old man was taken to Concord Hospital for assessment and was later released without charged.

About 11.30am yesterday (Monday 17 March 2025), detectives arrested a 21-year-old man at Bankstown Police Station.

He was charged with murder and refused bail to appear before Bankstown Local Court today (Tuesday 18 March 2025).
