Man Charged With Murder After Woman Found in Belmore

A man has been charged with the alleged murder of a woman in Sydney's south west.

About 7.50am yesterday, (Wednesday 11 December 2024), police were called to a home on Knox Street, Belmore, following a report of a concern for welfare.

Officers attached to Campsie Police Area Command attended and located the body of a woman.

She is yet to be formally identified; however, is believed to be aged 31.

A crime scene was established and an investigation into the incident commenced with the assistance of State Crime Command's Homicide Squad.

Following inquiries, officers attended a home in Denham Court and arrested a 35-year-old man, known to the woman, about 8.30am.

He was taken to Campbelltown Police Station and charged with:

  • Murder (DV)
  • Contravene ADVO
  • Use prohibited weapon contrary to prohibition order
  • Fail to comply with digital evidence access order direction

The man was refused bail and is due to appear in Campbelltown Local Court today, Thursday 12 December 2024.
