An investigation is underway after a man was critically injured after being hit by a ute at Casula overnight.
Emergency services were called to the Hume Highway near Holston Avenue shortly after 11pm (Saturday 26 November 2022), and found a 60-year-old man suffering head, chest and leg injuries.
The driver of the ute, a 23-year-old man, had stopped and rendered assistant until NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived and took the injured man to Liverpool Hospital.
Officers from Liverpool City Police Area Command established a crime scene with inquiries continuing by specialist officers from the Crash Investigation Unit.
The driver has undergone mandatory testing and his ute has been seized to undergo mechanical examination.
It's believed the man had been crossing on a designated crossing at the time.
