A 56-year-old man has died after he was crushed between a fence and a garbage truck in Koonwarra in South Gippsland.
It's believed the driver was working alone at the time and had stepped out of the truck when it rolled forward and pinned him against the fence.
He was found about 9.30am this morning.
WorkSafe is investigating the death.
The fatality brings the number of workplace deaths this year to nine, which is the same as at this time last year.
