Man detained following incident at Hendon, SA

Police have detained a man following an incident at Hendon tonight, according to SA Police.

Just after 7.30pm, Sunday 30 April, patrols were called to a business on Circuit Drive after concerns were raised regarding the welfare of a man at the address.

As police approached the building the man is alleged to have shot an arrow, striking one of the patrol officers in the leg. The officer received an injury to his leg and was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital for treatment. Thankfully he was discharged a short time later.

Star Group officers attended the scene and apprehended the man without further incident.

The detained man, a 47-year-old from no fixed place of abode has been detained under the Mental Health Act and taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital to be medically assessed.
