Police will prepare a report for the coroner following the death of a man at Barwon Heads this morning.
Emergency services were called following reports a boat had capsized near the river mouth, about 6.50am.
It's understood two men were on the boat when it was struck by a wave and overturned.
One of the men was rescued by members of the public on jet skis.
The 61-year-old Moriac man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The other man, who is yet to be formally identified, was trapped underneath the boat.
He was rescued by Life Saving Victoria but was sadly declared deceased at the scene.
Police will investigate the exact circumstance around the incident and prepare a report for the coroner.
