A man has died in hospital following a crash near Singleton last week.
About 6.15am on Wednesday 5 March 2025, emergency services were called to the New England Highway, McDougalls Hill, following reports of a crash.
At the scene, police were told that an SUV and a utility collided head-on about 300m south of the Magpie Street intersection.
The driver of the utility, a 25-year-old man, was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being airlifted to the John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition.
The driver of the SUV, a 59-year-old man, was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken by road to the John Hunter Hospital for the treatment of minor injuries.
A crime scene was established and forensically examined by officers attached to Hunter Valley Police District.
On Friday 7 March 2025, police were notified the 25-year-old man had died in hospital.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
Inquiries into the incident are continuing.
