Man Dies After Crash In Snowy Valleys Region

A man has died and another man has been injured in a crash in the Snowy Valleys region.

About 11am today (Friday 15 November 2024), emergency services were called to the Snowy Mountains Highway, Talbingo, about 55km south of Tumut, following reports of a single vehicle crash.

Officers attached to the Riverina Police District responded and found a car, which had been travelling in the northbound direction, had left the roadway and flipped onto its roof.

The male driver died at the scene.

The man is yet to be formally identified – but believed to be in his 40s.

NSW Ambulance responded and treated the male passenger – believed to be in his 30s – for abdomen and arm injuries.

He was airlifted to Canberra Hospital in a stable condition.

A crime scene was established and investigations commenced into the circumstances into the crash.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
