Police will prepare a report for the Coroner following the death of a man in Queenscliff on 18 January.
A man was found unresponsive in water in the vicinity of Queenscliff Pier about 4.20am.
The 62-year-old Caroline Springs man died at the scene.
It is understood he had been fishing in the area during the early hours of the morning.
The exact circumstances surrounding the death are yet to be determined but the matter is not believed to be suspicious.
