Detectives have commenced an investigation after a man died in a western Sydney hospital today.
About 1.45pm Saturday 20 July 2024, emergency services were called to Bangor Street, Guildford following reports of an assault.
About 2.15pm, officers attached to Cumberland Police Area Command were called to Westmead Hospital, after reports a man had presented with stab wounds in the abdomen.
Police established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the incident.
The man – believed to be aged 37 – underwent surgery, however died at 5:36pm; he is yet to be formally identified.
Police have been told the man was assaulted in Guildford by three men, before he was driven to Westmead Hospital by an associate.
