A man has died after a crash in the state's Orana Region.
About 4.20pm yesterday (Wednesday 30 August 2023), emergency services were called to the Golden Highway, about 22km east of Dubbo, following reports of a three-vehicle crash.
Officers attached to Orana Mid Western Police District attended and were told a sedan had collided head-on with a ute before the sedan was hit by a truck which had been travelling behind the sedan.
The driver of the sedan – a 33-year-old man – was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, he died at the scene.
The driver of the ute – a 17-year-old male – and his passenger – an 18-year-old male – were both treated at the scene and taken to hospital in stable condition, where the driver also underwent mandatory testing.
The driver of the truck – a 41-year-old man – was not injured, and he was taken to hospital for mandatory testing.
Police established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
