A critical incident investigation is underway after a man died following a pursuit and crash in Liverpool overnight.
Just before 2am (Friday 22 March 2025), officers attached to Liverpool City Police Area Command attempted to stop a motorcycle travelling southbound on the Hume Highway at Liverpool.
When it failed to stop, a pursuit was initiated.
The pursuit was terminated on Flowerdale Road, due to safety concerns.
A short time later, the motorcycle was located on Flowerdale Road after crashing into a parked car.
The male rider was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics, however died at the scene.
A crime scene has been established, with specialist officers from Crash Investigation Unit attending to examine the scene.
A critical incident investigation team from Cumberland Police Area Command will now investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The investigation will be subject of an independent review by the Professional Standards Command and oversight by the Law Enforcement Conduct Commission.
