Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal crash in Avoca.
Officers have been told the crashed vehicle was spotted off to the side of the Pyrenees Highway, by a passing motorist, on Thursday 16 January about 2.30am.
It appears the driver of the white Toyota Corolla was travelling north on the Pyrenees Highway, between the two junctions of Porcupine Lane, when he appears to have lost control and crashed.
At this stage it is believed the crash may have occurred sometime between 9pm on Wednesday 15 January and when discovered by the passing motorist.
Sadly the 79-year-old driver from Amphitheatre was found deceased at the scene.
