Man Dies In Boating Incident At Urunga

A man has died in a boating incident in the state's north

About 4.30pm yesterday (Thursday 30 January 2025) emergency services were called to Hungry Head Road, Urunga, following reports a boat had capsized.

Officers attached to Coffs/Clarence Police District, Water Police, Surf Rescue and Ambulance NSW found the body of a man, believed to be aged in his 50s, on sand just south of the Bellinger River boardwalk.

Attempts to resuscitate the man were unsuccessful and he died at the scene.

An aluminium boat has been recovered and seized for examination by Coffs Harbour Water Police.
