Man dies in crash - South Coast

A man has died following a crash on the South Coast this morning.

About 8.40am (Saturday 14 November 2020), emergency services were called to Princes Highway, Bimbimbie, about 20km south of Batemans Bay, after reports a Hyundai travelling north and truck travelling south had collided.

The male driver of the Hyundai was treated by paramedics; however, he died at the scene.

The man, believed to be aged in his 70s, is yet to be formally identified

The male driver of the truck, aged, 49-year-old man, was treated for minor injuries before being taken to Batemans Bay Hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers attached to South Coast Police District attended, along with the Crash Investigation Unit have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

The Princes Highway is closed in both directions between Tomakin Road in Mogo and Broulee Road in Bimbimbie.

Investigations are continuing.
