Man Dies in Hawkesbury River Water-Skiing Accident

A man has died on the Hawkesbury River following a water-skiing incident this morning.

About 7.25am today (Sunday 6 October 2024), emergency services were called to a boat ramp on the Hawkesbury River, Lower Portland, following reports of a marine incident.

Officers attached to Hawkesbury Police Area Command arrived and were told a water skier had been injured after he hit the water at speed while being pulled by a boat.

The 25-year-old man was brought ashore and treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics, however he died at the scene.

Police established a crime scene, and a report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.
