Man Dies In Truck Crash Near Wollongong

A man has died following a truck crash near Wollongong today.

About 10.50am today (Tuesday 19 November 2024), emergency services were called to Appin Road, Bulli Tops, following reports of a two-vehicle crash.

Officers attached to Wollongong Police District and Wollongong Highway Patrol arrived to find two trucks had collided.

A male driver of one of the trucks died at the scene.

He is yet to be formally identified but is believed to be aged in his 50s.

The other male truck driver was not injured and was taken to Wollongong Hospital for mandatory testing.

A crime scene has been established, with the assistance of Crash Investigation Unit, with inquiries continuing.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.

Appin Road remains closed to westbound traffic, with limited access given to eastbound traffic.

Diversions are in place and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
