A man has been arrested after allegedly driving at high-speed with three children in his car in the state's Riverina region today.
About 2pm (Monday 3 February 2020), officers from Traffic and Highway Patrol Police detected a vehicle travelling north on the Olympic Highway towards Uranquinty at 193km/h in a 100km/h zone.
Police turned to pursue the driver, but the vehicle quickly disappeared.
A short time later, police saw the vehicle travelling down a side road towards a golf course, near the Stuart Highway intersection at Moorong.
Officers called for assistance and a perimeter was created around the golf course.
To avoid police, the driver allegedly smashed through a fence, travelled down a fairway and through several other fences, before the vehicle stopped.
Police allegedly saw the man, aged 32, and three children, aged 12, 9 and 8, running and entering a shed.
The man was arrested and taken to Wagga Wagga Police Station.
The children have been placed into the custody of their mother and were uninjured.
