Man extradited from UK to face sexual offences against children

Child Abuse Squad detectives with the assistance of the Commonwealth Attorney-General's Department, were granted approval to extradite a former WA man from the United Kingdom to face 36 child sexual offences in a WA court.

It is alleged between 1983 and 1989, the man sexually assaulted four teenage boys aged between 13 and 15 years old at the time of the first offence. The alleged offences occurred in the suburbs of Como, Orange Grove, Sorrento and South Perth.

The man who is now 62-year-old has been charged with:-

• Ten counts of Aggravated Sexual Penetration;

• Nine counts of Procuring or Committing Indecent Practices between Male's;

• Nine counts of Carnal Knowledge Against the Order of Nature (Repealed by Bill 32 of 1989);

• Five counts of Aggravated Indecent Assault; and

• Three count of Stupefying with Intent to Commit and Indictable Offence.

Detectives arrived back in Perth yesterday (13 August) with the man and he is due to appear via video link to the Perth Magistrates Court today, 14 August 2021.
