A 33-year-old man from Dover has been charged with multiple offences, following an incident on the Huon Highway at Glendevie in the early hours of Thursday morning.
Police and emergency services were called to the scene about 12.30am following a single vehicle crash involving a blue Hyundai Excel.
The man driving the car was not injured, but allegedly became aggressive towards nearby residents who had come to his aid and followed them into their house, making threats and arming himself with items found inside the home.
Police arrived a short time later and arrested the man at the scene.
He was charged with disqualified driving, drink driving, aggravated burglary and criminal assault.
Police are seeking information from anyone who saw a Blue Hyundai Excel on the Huon Highway between Dover and Glendevie around the time.
