Man in Court After 4kg Rock Hits Car, Injures Driver

A man is due in court today charged after a rock smashed through the windscreen of a car being driven through Revesby at the weekend.

Emergency services were called to Henry Lawson Drive about 10pm last Saturday (13 July 2024), after a 4kg rock was allegedly thrown 20m from Boomerang Reserve, striking a passing vehicle.

A 24-year-old woman driving the car suffered severe bone and muscle bruising when struck.

An investigation was launched by officers attached to Bankstown Police Area Command and, following inquiries, an 18-year-old man was arrested and taken to Bankstown Police Station where he was charged with damage/destroy property with intention of endangering life.

The man was refused bail to appear in Bankstown Local Court later today (Tuesday 16 July 2024).
